# Outbid (out-bid.net)

Outbid is a public leaderboard where rank is determined solely by the amount paid. The minimum bid is $5. The maximum bid is $999,999. A listing holds its position until another listing pays more. There are no accounts, no voting, and no editorial selection.

## How bidding works

- Rank order is bid amount descending. Equal bids are ordered by which was placed first, so the older bid holds the higher rank.
- Taking position #1 costs the current top bid plus $5.
- Taking any other position #N costs the bid currently at #N plus $1.
- Any amount from $5 upward is accepted and lands at whatever position it is worth. There is no failed bid.
- Raising a listing you already hold requires at least $1 above its current bid, and you are charged only the difference.
- A bid never decreases, and no existing bid changes when someone else pays more.
- Rank is settled when payment completes, not when a price is quoted.
- All bids are final and non-refundable.
